Apple has released iOS 12.0.1 for the iPad & iPhone

This iOS release is an update to Apple's iOS 12 which was released September 17, 2018 and was perhaps the most notable update than previous generations; it offered more stability, was faster and packed with a lot of goodies. Apple's iOS 12.0.1 release will work on any iPhone which is iOS 11 compatible, meaning it will work on the iPhone 5S and later, iPad mini 2 and later and the 6th generation iPod touch and later.  If your device is iOS 12.0.1 compatible, you should receive a notification there is an update available.  If you do not have this feature turned on, you can trigger the update by going to "Settings", "General" and "Software Update". 

If you have updated your device to iOS 12 and are experiencing no issues, you may want to wait a week and see if there are any bugs reported, but if you are have problems related to one of the issues noted below, update your device and see if it resolves your issues.  I was extraordinarily happy to see that Apple decided to restore the original position of the ".?123" key on the iPad keyboard.  I found the switch to be very awkward and was spending more time correcting errors made as a result of the reverse of the ".?123" and the "emoji" keys with iOS 12.

• Resolves an issue that could cause iPhone XS devices to rejoin a Wi-Fi network at 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz 
• Restores the original position of the “.?123″ key on the iPad keyboard 
• Fixes an issue where subtitles may not appear in some video apps 
• Addresses an issue where Bluetooth could become unavailable
