How it works
- On iOS/iPadOS: Long‑press a file in the Files app and tap “Keep Downloaded.”
- On macOS: Control-click a file/folder in iCloud Drive in Finder and select “Keep Downloaded.”
- The item’s iCloud icon turns solid gray to indicate it's pinned locally (macworld.com).
